I should have seen it coming, but didn’t. The popularity of low heels and boyfriend jeans could only mean one thing, we’re headed into a shoe dichotomy. This fall shoes are branching into two different directions the masculine inspired shoes, like the ones seen on Ellen DeGeneres above, and ultra high heels and very feminine shoes like the ones on Jennifer Aniston below.

Back in the early ’90s the raging style in women’s shoes was low chunky heels with a masculine inspired upper. If you remember this style then you know exactly what’s coming. If you held onto your old shoes over the last two decades you can probably pull them out and wear them again. To make this look a little more feminine pair it with a skirt and colorful tights.

On the other end of the spectrum, heels have been growing to towering heights. Unlike the masculine inspired shoes these heels take some skill to wear but they do scream femininity. They’ve become the perfect shoe to pair with jeans, especially the boyfriend jean, dressing up a casual look and bringing that womanly touch. Pair super high heels with casual jeans and the latest shirt trend, a plaid shirt, and a stack of bracelets for the perfect combination of casual and dressy.

If you want a shoe that covers both areas, look for super high heels with a wing tip inspired upper this one pair will have you covered no matter what everyone else is wearing.
