She might act like a robot and older than her age, but you can’t deny Katie Holmes is very cute. On a casual day of shopping in Beverly Hills, Katie looked great in her flared jeans.
Wide-legged pants were all the rage beginning last year and many women weren’t wearing them well. Petite ladies often wear them dragging on the ground, making themselves look even shorter. Here Katie wears them right with a nice high heel.
Keeping things simple, she doesn’t wear much makeup or jewelry and instead gives her outfit a little style with a pair of open toe high heel sandals. This type of shoe style is great because they can be worn with anything from jeans (as Katie can testify) to evening wear.
This season don’t just stick to black. Bright patent heels and shiny metallic sandals are a big hit this spring, even with casual wear.
Katie Holmes gets a lot of flak because of her robotic personality and her wacky Scientology-crazed husband Tom Cruise. However, she is definitely one of the celebs that dresses well. And that seems to be a rare find!

Ugh! Leggings again! This time it’s Hilary Duff wearing a pair of black leggings and a white tunic-length tanktop as she headed to Starbucks in Hollywood.
This definitely wasn’t Hilary’s best day. Her hair is a bit of a mess and it looks like her eye makeup is leftover from the night before. At first I thought maybe she was coming from the gym (which might explain the leggings and messy look). But by her sandals, it doesn’t look like that’s the case.
Obviously everyone can get caught on a bad day, but Hilary Duff always looks so cute that I was kind of shocked that she was so disheveled.
Another thing is that I really want the HUGE oversized handbag trend would end. I actually like oversized clutches. But these gigantic bags that you could pack a week’s worth of clothes in are really too much for everyday use.
Well at least her flat sandals are cute … that’s the only redeeming thing about her look. Colorful and jeweled T-strap flats will be popular throughout the spring and summer of 2008. And I like her turquoise toenail polish too!

Christina Ricci is looking super cute these days.
Here she is a casual green “dress” with flip flops. It’s not actually a dress, but more like a beach coverup. Nonetheless, she looks adorable. I love her hair color and her bangs, even just pulled back in a ponytail. She’s really transformed herself in recent months.
Rubber flip flops are okay for the beach, but I really don’t wear them anywhere else. Do you?
I’d rather put on a pair of cute colorful skimmers, or a metallic thong sandal for running errands, shopping and other casual occasions.

When Kate Bosworth arrived at the “Late Show with David Letterman” in New York City on Tuesday, she was dressed in all black with an added little bit of glitz.
I’m not a fan of this outfit at all. The dress might have been cute without the jacket (and definitely without the stockings/leggings). The patterned stockings are far too busy to go with a dress with so much detail. Also Kate could have put on a little more makeup. I like the natural look but not too natural.
The stockings would have been cute with something else though, particularly when you see all the details. Check out the close-up before to see how they button up at the bottom - very cool.
Her slick pointy black pumps are the best part of the whole ensemble. When all else fails, throwing on a pair of black patent pumps will get you through the day.

If anyone has ever told you that it’s cool to wear a black mini-dress with slouchy brown boots - it’s not.
Fergie walked through LAX last week with this bad outfit. She’s a fashion disaster a lot of time then looks quite elegant at other moments. Here, she definitely needs the assistance of a stylist.
The cropped black leather jacket and big oversized bag (of course) wouldn’t be that bad if she was wearing a coordinating pair of shoes. A black high heel or even a black boot could have worked, I suppose. But a brown boot?
Maybe she was just trying to match her footwear with her hair.

Amanda Bynes was one of the many celebs at celebrity blogger Perez Hilton’s 30th birthday party this past weekend. Amanda looked cute, as always. But she really didn’t need to belt this outfit.
Well actually, belting it wouldn’t have been so bad if she didn’t put the belt so high. The way she’s wearing it makes her upper body look extremely short. If she wore the belt lower and looser around her hips, it would be much more flattering.
I do love her blue peep-toe pumps. This season, blue shoes are big hit and she wears them well. Her oversized white clutch is a nice contrast to the rest of her ensemble.

Michelle Trachtenberg and Sarah Michelle Gellar attend Media’s 25th annual Paley TV Festival on Thursday. The annual William S. Paley Television Festival reunited the cast of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” as part of their programming highlights. This year’s festival is taking place at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood from March 14-27, 2008.
Sarah Michelle Gellar looks very beautiful with her hair down and natural. Her coral dress is contrasted dramatically by black tights in a very bold look. Michelle Trachtenberg wore a more conservative outfit with a black and beige tea length strapless dress. The material and A-line skirt make this dress a little matronly, but the strapless top adds a touch of sexiness.
Both women wore black satin peep-toe pumps. I am a big fan of peep-toes but I don’t understand why some ladies insist on wearing them with dark stockings (like SMG). The point of peep-toes is that your toes are supposed to peep out!

Mira Sorvino looked classy and elegant at the Second annual “Pathfinders To Peace” Gala in New York City at Thursday. She wore a basic black dress with lace on its cap sleeves for a feminine touch. Mira is one of those women who doesn’t need a lot of makeup or glitzy clothes to look pretty.
I also love her shoes. Mira wore a black peep-toe pump with an embellishment on the vamp for a little extra glamour. She also accessories well with a pair of dangling star earrings.

Nicole Richie was also at the Prada Los Angeles screening of “Trembled Blossoms” at the Prada Beverly Hills Epicenter. She looked so happy in her post-pregnancy glow. I really loved her low-cut black dress and the cute “H” necklace (for her baby daughter Harlow).
But, what do you think abou the shoes? They aren’t horrible, but they just have too much going on. The peep-toe, cut out sides and lace-up front are just too much. Here, Nicole would have been much better off keeping it to a simple black patent peep-toe pump, or maybe a more simple black sandal instead.

I have never been a fan of Juliette Lewis’ (lack of) fashion sense and here’s another example why.
Last night, the Prada store in Beverly Hills was the site of a screening party for James Lima’s animated short “Trembled Blossoms.” I’m all for mixing textures, fabrics and colors, but umm… not like this.
Toss the fish net stockings out the window to start. I would have loved to have seen this hot pink dress with something more reasonable. Skip the grey jacket and beret, then instead wear it with a pair of hot pink strappy sandals instead of these short white boots. I don’t hate the booties, I just hate them like this.
These type of booties are actually going to be trendy throughout 2008. I’m just not sure anyone wants to see them with black stockings. I applaud Juliette for always trying to be fun and different, but everything about her outfit is just wrong.
