Over the Knee Boots

Over the Knee Boots

Too much of a good thing is a bad thing, definitely a bad thing. Let’s take boots for example. Now too many boots isn’t a bad thing, in fact I’m not even sure it’s possible to have too many boots. But combining too many trends together into one pair of boots is definitely a bad thing.

This season the biggest thing in footwear is a pair of boots. It doesn’t really matter what the boots look like or what style they are, it’s all about boots. But combining a number of boot styles and trends together can result in some pretty U-G-L-Y boots.

Take for example the over the knee boot trend combined with the cowboy boot trend like the Frye Jane Over the Knee Boot. As a bootie this shoe would be hot, and as a traditional cowboy boot it would be sublime, but as an over the knee boot it’s just silly.

Or what about taking one trend, like lace up boots and incorporating way too much of that trend? The L.A.M.B. Volera Lace Up Boots are just such a boot. AND to top it all off, obviously the laces aren’t meant to be functional on these boots, just decorative, but should the zipper be so noticeable?

And how about trends that are really meant for sandals not boots, like the strappy look or the open toe? Boutique 9’s Dorie Wrap Slouch Boots combines both of these trends in a suede boot that just doesn’t make any sense. I’m sorry but there is really no room for open toe boots, its plain ridiculous. And the strappy ties could possibly work, just not here.

So this season it’s all about the boot so buy a lot, wear them often, but choose them wisely.
